UTV Northern Ireland interviewed our Assistant Keeper Carol on the pride of our collection: Jonathan Swift’s own copy of the first edition of ‘Gulliver’s Travels’, annotated in his own hand. Our thanks go to reporter Stewart Robson and camera operator Peter Woodside.
The classic ‘Gulliver’s Travels’ will be 300 years old tomorrow: come and celebrate with us!
The lecture ‘Swift and the Vexed Publication of Gulliver’s Travels, 1726-1735’, will be given on Wednesday 28 October 2026, by Professor Ian Campbell Ross, Professor Emeritus Trinity College Dublin.
Admission is free, but booking is essential via email: admin@armaghrobinsonlibrary.co.uk , or phone: 028-37523142.
The lecture series is organised in association with the Centre for Eighteenth Century Studies, Queen’s University Belfast.
