Playful Museums Festival | Rhymetime 1

Wednesday, February 14, 2024 @ 11:00 am 11:45 am

As part of the NI Museum Council’s Playful Museums Festival the Library is offering two Rhymetime Story sessions, brought to life by living history character ‘Mrs Hogan’, who used to live in the Library building. Both events are aimed at pre-school children and their carers.

Wednesday 14 February from 11.00am to 11.45am in the Library.

On Wednesday 14 February we invite you to the Library for a Valentine Rhymetime session on love and affection. You child will be introduced to stories through familiar nursery rhymes and props. Suitable for Under 5s only.

Saturday 17 February from from 11.00am to 11.45am in No 5.

On Saturday 17 February we welcome the under 5s to join us in No 5 for another Rhymetime session. While we particularly want to invite dads to join this session, the session is open to everyone.

Nursery rhymes and songs are a wonderful way of introducing history to children at a very young age. Learning through play can spark their interest and doing so in a historic setting can make both history and museums accessible to all – no matter your age!

We are very grateful to the NI Museum Council for their support in enabling Armagh Robinson Library to participate in the Playful Museums Festival 2024.  The resources procured will not only assist with facilitating these two initial Rhymetime Story sessions for the general public, but also the opportunity for the Library to collaborate with local Armagh nursery schools and playgroups in the longer term, and introducing pre-school children to the museum and its collections within a fun and engaging environment
