St Patrick’s Poetry Reading

An opportunity to celebrate and explore contemporary poetry read by acclaimed Irish poets, Moyra Donaldson, Noel Monahan, and Kate Newmann.

Tickets: £8 per person, booking essential online or in person at the Navan Centre.


Moyra Donaldson, from Co Down, has published ten collections of poetry including a Selected Poems. Her work is widely anthologised and she has read at festivals in Europe, Canada and America.

Noel Monahan is a native of Granard, Co. Longford, now living in Cavan. He has won numerous awards for his poetry and writing. and has published seven collections of poetry with Salmon Poetry, with a new collection, Journey Upstream, due from them in 2024. His work has been translated into French and Italian, including Celui Qui Porte Un Veau’ and Tra Una Vita E L’Altra.

Kate Newmann has published five collections of poetry, with a sixth – Cockett – due out in 2024. She compiled the Dictionary of Ulster Biography and Nearness of Ice: stories of Arctic Convoy veterans. She read at the Himalayan Echoes Festival in Nainital. Kate was Poet Laureate for Ballycastle, County Antrim, and is Co-Director of Summer Palace Press.
