The Library’s volunteers were nominated for a Mayor’s award in the Culture, Arts, Sports and Heritage Category. This is in recognition of the key role that they play in welcoming visitors to the Library and No 5 Vicars’ Hill, especially on busy occasions. Our volunteers work with the staff members to meet and talk with visitors, and to show examples of what the Library and No 5 hold in their collections. They also give weekly support to the Library through their work with the books, maps and print collections. Thanks to their regular and meticulous care, they ensure that these collections remain accurately shelved, cleaned and highlighted for any conservation needs.
