Official Opening of No 5

No 5 Vicars’ Hill was officially opened on Monday 15 March 2011 by the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Investment, Arlene Foster MLA. Jane Williams, Committee Member of the Heritage Lottery Fund for Northern Ireland also spoke at the launch. The building contractor, Harry Elliott Constructions from Cookstown, was commended for the restoration work carried out to this 18th century building. Design and interpretation of both the building and the objects currently on display from the Library’s collections were carried out by Tandem Design of Holywood. Display lighting was supplied by ERCO Lighting. Many people were involved in this 15-month long project, and it is to all their credit that the Library’s Governors and Guardians and the Library’s staff members and volunteers can feel a great sense of achievement. No 5 is now open to the public as follows: Tuesday to Saturday, 10.00am – 1.00pm, and 2.00pm – 4.00pm.
