The Library occasionally offers internships to students. Over the last seven weeks we had the pleasure of having Queen’s MA student Ben Argue working alongside us. Ben says the following of his time at the Library:

“I am an MA student studying History at Queen’s University Belfast and, as part of my course, have had the great fortune of interning at the Armagh Public Library. The aim of the internship was to gain an appreciation of what is involved in working in a public history environment and presenting history to the public. This has certainly been accomplished as my time here has seen me searching through Library records to compile lists of relevant information, speaking to visitor groups, both children and adults, as well as writing publicity material to represent the Library and its work.

The Library boasts a fantastic group of dedicated staff and volunteers, all of whom have endeavoured to provide a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and valuable experience of working with and presenting the Library’s incredible store of historic materials. I am extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to work in such a wonderful building alongside equally wonderful people. As with so many of its visitors, this Library has left an impression on me that I am certain will last a lifetime.”
